The Zumtobel Group, based in Dornbirn in the Vorarlberg region of Austria, is the technologically leading global player in the lighting industry. The Group, which started life as Elektrogeräte und Kunstharzpresswerk W. Zumtobel KG in 1950, today offers a fullline range of professional indoor and outdoor lighting, lighting management systems, lighting components and modules, as well as innovative LED and OLED technology. The Group pursues a multi-brand strategy, addressing different fields of business and target groups in the lighting market through its internationally renowned Thorn, Zumtobel and Tridonic brands and its recently established Ledon brand. In the luminaire sector the Group maintains a strong market presence through the Thorn and Zumtobel brands. In the components sector, through its Tridonic subsidiary the Group supplies luminaire manufacturers across the globe with lamp control gear, lighting management systems and LED modules. In 2010 through the Ledon brand the Group added the production of LED lamps for consumers to its core areas of expertise.

As the European market leader in the field of professional lighting , the Zumtobel Group has a strong international platform for its future expansion. Today this includes production facilities in Europe, Asia, North America, and Australia, and sales and consultancy centers in more than seventy countries. For Zumtobel AG, obtaining a listing on the Vienna Stock Exchange in 2006 was the logical next step in decades of expansion, designed to transform this former family-owned Austrian company into the leading global player in the lighting industry. The Zumtobel share (ZAG) is listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange and contained in the indice ATX. After the IPO, the Zumtobel family still remains the largest single shareholder.
